Industrial Publishing House Marks 70th Founding Anniversary

Pyongyang, August 16 (KCNA) -- The Industrial Publishing House commemorated its 70th founding anniversary in the DPRK. The publishing house is a powerful publication and information service centre of the Workers' Party of Korea for promoting the economic development and development of science and technology of the country by editing and issuing diverse economic and technical publications conducive to putting the national economy on a Juche, modern, IT and scientific basis. President Kim Il Sung founded magazine "Industry" as organ of the Industry Bureau of the People's Committee of North Korea on August 16, Juche 37 (1948), indicated in detail the editorial orientation and led it to make more economic and technical publications. Leader Kim Jong Il took a measure to integrate the publishing organs in all sectors of the national economy as a comprehensive economic and technological publishing centre, fixed the foundation date of the publishing house and led the journalists, editors and officials to dynamically wage the writing and editing to contribute to carrying out the Party's economic policies. For the past seven decades, the publishing house has issued periodicals and books of dozens of varieties and discharged in a responsible manner its duty for arousing the broad segments of people to the building of an economic power.
