Industry Minister attends UNWTO meeting

Madrid, Jan.19 (BNA): Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister, Chairman of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, attended the 113th meeting of the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Executive Council in Madrid, Spain. The session focused on the crisis hitting the global tourism industry due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), focusing on measures to mitigate the impact of the pandemic and revitalize the sector. The delegations also discussed the vote to elect the new UNTWO Secretary-General. Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa is among the nominees in the fray for the post.
