Injured THAI passengers leave hospital

BANGKOK, Sept 1 (TNA) - All the five passengers who were admitted into a hospital in Hong Kong after receiving injuries when a Thai Airways International (THAI) fight hit turbulence while landing at the airport there last Friday have left the hospital, said Sorajak Kasemsuvan, president of THAI. He said the five passengers including three Chinese, one Pakistani and a Thai were discharged from the hospital Saturday after receiving treatment. Mr. Sorajak also thanked two Thai doctors who were travelling on the same flight and had helped some other injured passengers at the time of the accident. Meanwhile, Raweewan Netrakavesna, Director of Suvarnabhumi International Airport, projected that about 27.5 million passengers are expected to use the airport during this upcoming high season, starting from this October to next March, up 5.5 per cent from the corresponding period last year. Mrs. Raweewan said foreign tourists who are expected to travel to Thailand during the period are Chinese followed by Japanese and Russians. Approximately 145,000 commercial flights are projected to provide services during this high season, she said, adding that a ‘Passenger Facilitation Centre’ is set up from today until next March 31 to provide security and help passengers and people at the airport.(TNA)
