Innovation exhibition for aging society to be organised

BANGKOK, July 15 (TNA) -- An academic seminar and innovation exhibition would be held later this month with an aim to create equality and opportunity in the society for the elderly and persons with disabilities. General Manger of the NCC Exhibition Organiser Co, Ltd Ms Boosaya Prakorbthong, the company responsible to organise the InterCare Asia 2016 event, said that her company, together with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEP) under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) have joined forces to organise four events to present new innovations that would help to create social equality for the elderly and people with disabilities in all aspects. The event is scheduled to be held between July 25-27 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. Visitors would be able to participate in the 10th international Convention on Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology (i-CREATe 2016) set up by the National Electronics and Computer Technology Centre (NECTEC) of the NSTDA. Visitor could also enjoy the 9th Robot Design Contest 2016 (RDC 2016) at the event, where contestants were asked to design Robot for Society this year. This contest would be held by the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) under the NSTDA. Finally, visitors would be able to join in with the InterCare Asia 2016 expo, an exhibition of technology and innovations created to assist the elderly and disabled persons. (TNA)
