Innovative craniofacial implant successfully developed in Thailand

BANGKOK, February 19 (TNA) - Thailand's Dental Innovation Foundation under the Royal Patronage (DIF), in cooperation with the Advanced Dental Technology Center (ADTEC) under Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS), has successfully developed and lauched the “Craniofacial Implant” project, targeted to first treat 100-200 people nationwide. When announcing the national success at a seminar held in Bangkok this week, DIF Chairperson Professor Petchara Techakampuch expressed her delight over the successful Thai research and development project, praising collaboration of DIF, TCELS-ADTEC and the Faculty of Dentistry of Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Chiang Mai University in the Thai North and Prince of Songkla University in the Thai South. This week's seminar was organized to exchange knowledge and experiences among researchers and experts, as well as to create research and development network and to publicize the contribution of His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej to the development of the Thai dentistry. The Thai craniofacial implant innovation will be used in treating patients with facial deformities due to accidents or injuries, namely those caused by violent unrest in the Thai far South. (TNA)
