Insurgency reported in Thai South

NARATHIWAT (Southern Thailand), June 30 (TNA) - Insurgents on Saturday night created unrest here, damaging up to 20 surveillance cameras across six districts. Police said of the total, three cameras were burned in Bacho district, near an army task force base. In another report, bomb blasts and shooting in Yala’s Krong Penang district, had killed eight soldiers and wounded four others, including two civilians. Security investigators said about 15 insurgents were involved in the attack, including two key militants Aba Jejaali and Ubaidila Rommueli. The two were believed to be militant leaders in Yala’s Yaha district, and had been responsible for several attacks in the area previously. (TNA)
