Interior Minister receives PDRC report

Manama, May 3 (BNA): Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa received today Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission (PDRC) Chief Nawaf Mohammad Al Moawda and other members. He hailed the role of the panel in disseminating human rights under the reform project, which was initiated by His Majesty the King to reinforce justice and the rule of the law. Lt. Gen Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa was presented with a copy of the PDRC first annual report (2015/2014), which documented efforts to monitor the conditions of prisoners and detainees. He highlighted the dedication of the Interior Ministry to look into the recommendations so as to enhance human rights principles, stressing the importance of community partnership to reinforce cooperation and coordination and spread the culture of human rights within Bahraini society.
