Interior Ministry: Lawbreakers will be held legally accountable

Manama, Feb. 9 (BNA): As part of the commemoration marking the anniversary of the National Action Charter, the Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan stated on Tuesday that any calls to disrupt security and public order in Bahrain is a crime under the law. Anyone who responds to such calls and engages in illegal behaviour will be held legally accountable. The Chief said that the police are monitoring illegal calls aimed at terrorising the public and disrupting public order and that they will confront anyone aiming to upset the stability of the nation. The Chief stated that there will be a visible increased police presence over the next few days to ensure that the public feels secure. Anyone witnessing criminal behaviour is asked to call the police hotline on 80008008. He said that all calls will be treated as anonymous. (Police Media Centre).
