Interpol asks Thai police to watch out for Indian suspect

BANGKOK, October 28 (TNA) - The Interpol has sought Thai police's cooperation to watch out for a suspected Indian terrorist who fled an Indian prison and may escape through Thailand. Royal Thai Police Spokesman Police Lieutenant General Prawuthi Thawornsiri told journalists on Tuesday the Interpol has informed the Thai police that the Indian suspect, Jaktar Singh Tara, who might involve in terrorism, has escaped from an Indian prison possibly to Southeast Asia. The spokesman quoted the Interpol as reporting that the Indian suspect might escape through southern Thailand; so, local police have been ordered to carefully watch out for the Indian man. The spokesman said the information from the Interpol has also been sent to all other concerned countries. Meanwhile, Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) spokesman Colonel Banpot Punpian told reporters that the Indian suspect was a culprit in a murder case in India in 1996 and he then escaped from his jail in 2004. According to the ISOC spokesman, there were reports that the suspected Indian terrorist fled to many Asian nations, including Thailand, and authorities of concerned countries, including Thailand, have helped look for the man, but his whereabouts remain unknown. The ISOC spokesman stated that the Indian suspect is not a bomb expert and has had no links with any incident in the violence-plagued Thai far South.(TNA)
