INT'L CONFERENCE ON CHINGIS KHAAN STUDIES HELD

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ An international conference on studies of Chingis Khaan was held on Thursday under auspices of the President of Mongolia. Dedicated to the 850th birth anniversary of Chingis Khaan who is considered as the Man of Millennium, this conference brought together some 40 scholars and researchers from the USA, China, Russia, the Republic of Korea, the Great Britain, Germany and Mongolia. They shared their opinions on theory and urgent problems faced to the studies of Chingis Khaan. Reports were delivered by them on philosophy, history, politics, culture, custom, arts and ethnography within the topic. For example, a teacher of the "Chingis Khaan" institute Kh.Shagdar gave a report themed "Urgent problems to Chingis Khaan studies"; an academician D.Tomortogoo--a report themed "Dorvoljin script and policy of Yuan Dynasty on scripts"; and a professor Sh.Choimaa--a report themed "Childhood of Chingis Khaan". The participants also raised issues on the legal thinking of Mongolians of the 13th century and other topics, and then enjoyed an exhibition about history of the Great Mongolian Empire and other Mongolian empires.
