Intl. University Theater Festival announces winners

TEHRAN,May 13(MNA) -- The 16th International University Theater Festival announced winners during a ceremony that was held at the main hall of Tehran’s City Theater Complex on Saturday evening. “A Life in the Theater” won two awards in the section dedicated to theatrical students. The play brought Mohammad Bahramani the best director award and Iman Seyyed-Borhani and Mir Saeid Musavian shared the best actor award for their roles in the drama. Written by “David Mamet”, the play focuses on the relationship between two actors, the play’s only characters. Ava Darvishi won the best actress award for her role in “He Who Says No, He Who Says Yes” and Faryar Hosseini won the best playwright award for “Tehran-Belgrade”. The winners of the category dedicated to non-theatrical students also were announced during the ceremony. Director/dramatist Ehsan Shayanfard received the best director award and the best playwright award for “Furti” in this section. The best actor award went to Mehdi Rahimi-Sadeh for his role in “It Is Single Place Here” and Sara Karimian-Eqbal won the best actress award for her role in “The Rooster”.
