Int'l visitors welcome to blooming flower festival in Thai North

BANGKOK, October 1 (TNA) - A blooming flower festival, the 14th of its kind, will be organized in Thailand's northern Lampang Province next month to welcome international visitors amid the charming cold winter wind. Thawatchai Chakpaisan, Deputy Governor of the state-run Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), told journalists on Monday that the 14th Mae Moh Tourism Festival, in which blooming flowers, mainly Tree Marigold or the Mexican sunflower or the Japanese sunflower, await to welcome international visitors on a vast plot of land of 500 rai (2.5 rai = 1 acre), will be organized during November 9-11. "During the three-day festival, international visitors will happily enjoy the blooming flowers and have their own personal touches on the naturally-clean air amid the charming cold winter wind and the sea of fog in early morning hours", Thawatchai said. According to the EGAT deputy governor, international visitors will also enjoy the "Mae Moh Slider", a most naturally-created scenic slider in Thailand. Besides, other activities will be organized during the upcoming Mae Moh Tourism Festival, themed the "light of happiness", including those on promoting the local lifestyles, sale of local community products, music concerts and shows on the stage by popular Thai actors and actresses.
