IOM Organizes Migration, Development Training For Iran Officials

Tehran, Feb 17, IRNA - International Organization for Migration (IOM), in collaboration with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will organize a two-day workshop on “Enhancing Institutional Knowledge of Migration and Development Issues” in Kish Island on February 21-22, 2013. The aim of the workshop which will be attended by officials from the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs, as well as immigration police officers, will be to enhance participants’ understanding of how to mainstream migration into development planning with the focus on Immigration and Border Management Issues. According to a press release issued by the United Nations Information Center (UNIC), this event - which has been developed in line with the preceding workshops – is funded by the government of Japan./end
