Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling team crowns champion in Asian Championships

Tehran, April 28, IRNA – Iranian wrestlers gained four gold medals and three bronze ones to crown champion in 2019 Asian Greco-Raman Wrestling Championships in Xi'an, China on Sunday. Iran had ranked sixth in the previous edition of the competitions. Mohammad-Reza Garaei, Saeid Abdevali, Hossein Nouri and Amir Qasemi in 72-, 82-, 87- and 130-kg weight categories, respectively won gold medals for the Iranian team. Iran’s three bronze medals were also bagged by Saman Abdevali, Mohammad-Ali Garaei and Mehdi Aliyari in 63-, 77- and 97-kg weight classes respectively. Iran collected 165 points to rank first in the competitions followed by Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan with 163 and 134 points, respectively.
