Iran’s representative comes 1st in Malaysia Int’l Quran competition

Tehran, June 15, IRNA – Mohsen Hajihassni Kargar from Iran won the first rank in the recitation category of Malaysia’s 57th International Holy Quran Competition. According to IQNA dispatches, the competition’s jury panel selected the Iranian Qari as the top winner in the recitation category. This is the first time in 9 years that an Iranian comes first in this annual quran contest. The runner-up was Malaysia’s contender while representatives of the Philippines, Brunei and Algeria came third to fifth. I memorization of the entire holy Quran, memorizers from Qatar, Kuwait and Tunisia won the first to third titles, respectively. The closing ceremony of the contest was held at Putra world trade center in Kuala Lumpur with the participation of Malaysia’s king. Mohsen Hajihassani Kargar was born in 1988 in Mashhad, northeast of Iran. He was selected to represent the country at Malaysia’s international Quranic event after winning the second title in the national Quran competition.
