Iran attaching importance to expansion of coop. with Bolivia: FM

Tehran, IRNA - Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian has underscored that the Islamic Republic pays heed to the development of cooperation with La Paz. FM Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia, Freddy Mamani Machaca, and his entourage in Tehran amid the Bolivian delegation's visit to Iran with the aim of participating in the first joint economic commission and the fourth meeting for political consultations. The Iranian top diplomat pointed to the significance of relationships between the South American countries and Iran, emphasizing that Tehran is determined to expand collaborations with La Paz. Expressing the Iranian private sector's readiness to boost economic exchanges with Bolivia, the foreign minister noted that they are keen on implementing infrastructure projects in the South American country, exporting engineering and technical services, as well as expanding trade exchanges, including in agricultural products. The Bolivian deputy FM, for his part, described the visit to Iran as a useful opportunity to become acquainted with the vast capacities of the Islamic Republic. Mamani Machaca also underlined the need for cooperation and solidarity between the two countries in a bid to strengthen multilateralism and enhance international peace and security. Moreover, he depicted Iran's capabilities and capacities in industrial, scientific, technological, and medical sectors as eye-catching, noting that holding the joint economic commission is an important opportunity to expand bilateral interactions. In another meeting between Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for political affairs Ali Bagheri Kani and his Bolivian counterpart, the Iranian diplomat said that the Islamic Republic is ready to share its four-decade-long experiences of resistance with independent countries. The Bolivian deputy FM underlined that the South-South cooperation, especially in the agricultural field, as well as the cultural, trade, and animal husbandry areas, are among the appropriate arenas to expand mutual collaborations.
