Iran builds news solar air heater

Karaj, Sept 17, IRNA – The new generation of solar air heaters were made in Karaj, west of Tehran, said a project manager of Iran's Institute of Materials and Energy (MERC) on Monday. 'The solar air heaters made so far are made of metal, thus they are hefty,' Hossein Qadamian told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA). 'The new system is made of light polymeric material and the air intake and output of the system is nine to 13 percent more than the previous ones.' The project took three years to finish and has more various uses compared to the previous generations. Saying that the new system can bring about a 17-degree difference in temperature, he added that the system has already been patented and is in the commercial phase.
