Iran committed, reliable partner for all neighbors: Dep FM

Tehran, April 17, IRNA – Iran supports collective cooperation in the Persian Gulf region and is a committed and reliable partner for all its neighboring states, Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has said. Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks while commenting on a recent visit to the United Arab Emirates of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif which had taken place on April 15. “The foreign minister had constructive and influential discussions in the UAE,” Amir-Abdollahian told IRNA. Referring to the significance of regional security, the diplomat said all parties would benefit from restoration of security and fighting against extremism, sectarianism and terrorism that are threatening the present world. He noted the regional states could make a secure world by expanding all-out cooperation among themselves relaying on extensive exchanges among regional nations. While in UAE, Foreign Minister Zarif attended a meeting of Iran-UAE joint Economic Commission where he signed an eight-point agreement with his counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed an-Nahyan on bilateral cooperation.
