Iran-COMSEC Relations To Expand

Tehran, Sept 25, IRNA – A deputy at the Ministry of Cooperative, Labor and Social Welfare stressing that Iran-COMSEC relations will be expanded said his ministry has maintained an active and effective presence in the fourth COMSEC working session on poverty alleviation. COMSEC is the Permanent Committee of Social and Economic Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Conference. The fourth COMSEC session is currently being held in Turkey in with Iran in attendance. Deputy for Social Welfare, Ahmad Meidari who is attending the meeting said COMSEC enjoys different facilities and expertise to offer to the member countries such as Iran. He said Iran joined the COMSEC workshop on alleviation of poverty as of March this year, adding that to enhance relations with neighboring Muslim countries and exchange information and expertise Iran will actively attend the forthcoming sessions. Stressing that in order to implement programs for social support and alleviation of poverty it is necessary to form data bases, Meidari said Turkey and Indonesia are countries that have made good progress in this field./end
