Iran Condoles Philippines Gov't, Nation On Typhoon Victims

Tehran, Nov 10, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham on Saturday expressed sympathy with the Filipino nation and government on deaths caused by typhoon. She hoped that the Filipinos would leave behind the current calamity, praying to God to bestow patience upon the families who lost their loved ones in the disaster. Deploring the occurrence of typhoon in the Filipino city of Tacloban, Afkham added that the disaster which left hundred dead and wounded and thousands displaced grieved the Islamic Republic of Iran. One of the strongest typhoons ever to make landfall devastated the central Philippines, killing more than 1,000 people in one city alone and 200 in another province./end
