Iran donates books to Germany

Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA - Iran's Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) has donated over 32 books to Germany’s Phantastische Bibliothek Wetzlar (Fantastic Library of Wetzlar). The donation was made during the 66th Frankfurt International Book Fair, following which, a letter of appreciation to IIDCYA was extended by an official from the German library. Bettina Twrsnick wrote to IIDCYA’s public relations department thanking the Iranian Institute for supporting the German multilingual reference library. Accommodating 150,000 titles, Fantastic Library of Wetzlar is one of the largest public libraries specialized in Fantasy literature worldwide and it is the largest in Europe. It is generally a reference library, open for the public and researchers. The German center holds shelves for Persian books which are chosen by the section’s experts at different international book fairs. Opened in 1989, the library collects works published in the field of fantasy literature: science fiction, classical fantasy, horror, novels, adventure novels, fairy tales and myths. It also holds exhibitions and concerts, discussion evenings and readings, university seminars and workshops for schools./end
