Iran envoy, Pak army commander discuss matters of mutual interest

Islamabad, Dec 29, IRNA - Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost on Friday met with Pakistan Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Zubair Mahmood Hayat to discuss matters of mutual interest, a military statement said. “Matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting, at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi,” a statement issued by military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. It is pertinent to mention that in November last year, Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa paid an official visit to Iran during which he had important discussions with senior Iranian political and military leaders. Later Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri visited Pakistan to reciprocate General Bajwa’s Iran visit.
