Iran exports first liquid gas cargo to Pakistan

Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 20 By Dalga Khatinoglu - Trend: Iran exported the fist liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cargo to Pakistan. Shana news agency quoted Ali Hekmati, a senior official at the National Iranian Oil Product Distribution Company on Oct.17 as saying that the first LPG cargo with 126 metric tons of LPG was exported to Pakistan. Hekmati said than LPG was exported by seven trucks. He also said that Iran is negotiating the increase of LPG exports to Pakistan and other countries. Prior to being hit with western sanctions, Iran exporting about $3.5 billion worth of LPG annually. According to the Iranian Custom Administration's annual report, Iran exported 2.5 million tons of LPG worth $2.2 billion during the last Iranian fiscal year, indicating a 12-percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year. However, the custom's monthly reports also indicates that Iran exported above 1.8 million metric tons of LPG (liquid propane and butane) worth $1.731 billion during the first half of Iran's current fiscal year, indicating increases of 97 percent and 105 percent in volume and value respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year.
