Iran to hold 8th intl. exhibition on tourism

TEHRAN, Dec. 15 (MNA) – The tourism deputy of Cultural Heritage Organization will host the 8th international exhibition on tourism. Morteza Rahmani Movahed said that the Organization, in close cooperation with Iran’s Tourism and Automobile Association, would establish Iran’s tourism information offices abroad to “implement the grand policies of the organization to promote tourism industry.” “The representative offices will function as a center of gravity for bilateral relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and hosting countries, to advertise the tourism capacities, to find international markets, to establish interactions with the host countries’ tourism bodies, officials and centers, to organize and coordinate recourses to hold tourism events, to publicize Iran’s natural, historical and cultural attractions, and to elicit participation and cooperation of Iranians abroad,” he added. Rahmani Movahed said that the deputy had launched printing of the booklets of all provinces for distribution in domestic as well as foreign media outlets; “with a revolution in information technology and the necessity of fundamental changes in the methods of communications, ‘country’s comprehensive tourism portal’ is in agenda,” he said, which he believed, “would play an effective role in accurately reflect the country’s attractions to domestic and foreign visitors.” The tourism deputy also would hold orientation tours for media and tourism officials of Germany, Switzerland and China in the present year, which Rahmani Movahed said would focus on advertising Iran’s tourism attractions in foreign media. He also added that the 8th international exhibition on tourism and related industries would bring together tourism activists and present immense capacities and tourism attractions of the country; “the exhibition has been planned for February 12-15 2015 in Tehran International Permanent Fairground; on the sidelines of the exhibition, 3 conferences on health, modern marketing methods, and symmetrical distribution will be held,” Rahmani Movahed added. He announced establishment of a special committee on China markets to “implement president’s directives and to attain effective strategies to attract Chinese tourists,” and signing of an agreement with Islamic Culture and Communication Organization to “help coordinate Iran’s foreign consulates activities to depict Iran in those countries in the best manner.”
