Iran: Huge Hydrate Gas Reserves Identified In Oman Sea

Tehran, Dec 18, IRNA - Executive director of Exploration of Hydrate Gas Reserves in Oman Sea Naser Keshavarz said on Monday huge hydrate gas reserves has been identified in Oman Sea which is equal with the entire Iranian oil and gas reserves. Pointing to a drop in the global oil and gas reserves, he said although countries are replacing hydrocarbon energy with renewable energies, but, they still cannot ignore traditional energy reserves such as oil and gas. Keshavarz said the discovery has been made with the help of Oil Industry Exploration Center, National Iranian Oil Company and other domestic and foreign oil and gas exploration companies in April 2011 in depth of 600 meters under Oman Sea./end
