Iran-Italy to facilitate issuing visas

Rome, July 11, IRNA – Officials from Iran and Italy Foreign Ministries, in a meeting here on Wednesday, underlined necessity of facilitating issuing visas for citizens of the two countries. In a one-day meeting, Italian Foreign Ministry Secretary General Michele Valensise and Iran Foreign Ministry Consulate Director General Seyed Hossein Mirfakhar, who is in Italy heading a delegation, exchanged views on the issue. The Italian Foreign Ministry issued a statement after the meeting and called the negotiation and expansion of cooperation between the two countries important and declared that the two delegations considered ways to strengthen cultural and student exchanges and facilitating issuing tourist visa for citizens of the two countries. Mirfakhar told IRNA that in his meeting with Italian consulate officials they discussed different issues and both sides underlined facilitating issuing visas for Iranian and Italian citizens. He added that development of scientific cooperation, exchanging universities professors and students between the two countries were discussed and the two sides agreed that, in direction of education of language and literature of Iran and Italy, the two sides grant scholarships to each other.
