Iran, Kazakhstan to boost media cooperation

Tehran, Jan 20, IRNA – Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) International Affairs director hosted Kazakh counselor and cultural attaché in a bid to promote media bonds between the two countries. During the meeting, Bakhtbai Abdi Moldiev and director general of international communications and cooperation, Shahram Bolourian underlined expansion of cooperation between the two countries' media outlets. Expressing pleasure over his Tehran visit, Bakhtbai said Iran and Kazakhstan have longstanding and historical ties with cultural, religious affinities and commn language serving as unique opportunity for enhancing mutual cooperation. He called for the two countries audio-visual media outlets to introduce capacities and get the two nations acquainted with each other. The Kazakh official voiced his country's readiness to air films produced by IRIB. Bolourian, for his part, expressed Tehran's readiness to enhance media cooperation between IRIB and Kazakh TV. IRIB is prepared to provide Kazakh TV with documentaries on Iranian traditions and ethnic groups, he said. Bolourian said that IRIB is ready to produce joint films on life of luminaries, especially a film on Hakim Abu Nasr Farabi.
