Iran-Latin American States Share Common Stands: Culture Minister

Tehran, Feb 13, IRNA – The minister of culture and Islamic guidance said Sunday that the anti-oppression approaches are among the common points shared by Iran and the Latin American states. Meeting with a number of elites, poets and reporters from the Latin American countries, Mohammad Hosseini stressed the need for expansion of relations between Iran and those states. Referring to the nationwide rallies on February 11 in commemoration of the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Hosseini said the US and the West imposed sanctions on Iran but those restrictions have made the Iranians stronger. Today, Iran's achievements in various areas have made the US and certain western countries angry, noted the Iranian minister. Although everything was under the US control before the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran could later reach favorable position both in the region and the world, said the culture minister. On relations with the Latin American countries, Hosseini said the two sides enjoy friendly ties./end
