Iran, Lebanon call for strengthening bilateral ties

Tehran, IRNA – Iran's new ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani in a meeting with Prime Minister of Lebanon Najib Mikati on Wednesday discussed the development of bilateral relations and regional issues. Amani met and held talks with Mikati on Wednesday, according to the Lebanese National News Agency. The two sides discussed the political situation and mutual ties between the two countries and current and regional issues. Mojtaba Amani submitted a copy of his credentials to Lebanese Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah Bou Habib on July 31. Mojtaba Amani, the former head of Iran's Interest Section in Cairo, was appointed as Iran's new ambassador to Lebanon. He replaced Seyyed Mohammad Jalal Firouznia.
