Iran, Oman Stress Expansion Of Cultural Ties

Tehran, Sept 8, IRNA – Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati and Omani Information Minister Abdul Monem bin Mansour Al Hassani here on Sunday stressed the importance of expansion of bilateral cooperation in cultural and media affairs. Jannati expressed satisfaction with the growing trend of bilateral relations. The Iranian minister referred to the recent visit of Oman’s Sultan Qaboos to Tehran, describing it as a turning point in mutual ties. Jannati hoped the visit of Omani cultural and media delegation to Iran would lead to further expansion of all-out ties between the two nations. Turning to regional developments, Jannati said extremist moves have resulted in critical situation in Syria, Egypt and Bahrain. The Omani minister, too, welcomed steps to promote Tehran-Muscat relations. The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Chief Majid Omidi Shahraki was also present in the meeting./end
