Iran-Pakistan Vow To Continue Anti-narcotics Efforts

Islamabad, Nov 13, IRNA – Iran’s Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar and his Pakistani counterpart Rehman Malik on Tuesday vowed to continue efforts to boost all-out bilateral cooperation, especially in the area of anti-narcotics campaign. Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan, Alireza Haqiqian, Chief of Iran’s Anti Narcotics Force Brigadier General Ali Moayyedi and several other senior officials and diplomats were also present in the meeting. The Iranian minister appreciated the Pakistani government's efforts to hold a ministerial conference on counter-narcotics. He said that Pakistan and Iran enjoy strong brotherly ties adding that both countries are making all-out efforts to further boost bilateral relations. Malik expressed his satisfaction with the current level of amicable ties between the two nations and expressed hope that the two sides would witness further expansion of cooperation in the near future. Iran’s interior minister, currently here heading a high-ranking delegation, is scheduled to attend Ministerial Conference on Counter-narcotics. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari would address the inaugural session of the conference./end
