Iran, Palestine to boost cultural ties

Tehran, Dec 3, IRNA - Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati and his visiting Palestinian counterpart Ziad Abu Amr emphasized boost in bilateral cultural ties. In a meeting with Abu Amr on Tuesday evening, Jannati noted that Iran is ready for expansion of all-out ties with Palestine in all fields particularly in the areas of culture and media. Palestine is the major issue of Islam at the present time, he added. Condemning new Zionist regime’s pressures upon Palestinians, the Iranian culture minister asked Muslim states to be united in support of Palestinians against Israel. Zionist regime is symbol of violence and extremism worldwide, he said, adding that Iran is ready to hold Palestine Week in Iran. Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has been created to deviate public opinion from the Palestine issue, the official stated. He further voiced satisfaction with the amicable ties between the two nations. Palestinian culture minister is in Iran to attend the 10th meeting of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers. A large number of information ministers from Muslim states are attending the two-day ministerial meeting at Azadi Hotel in northern Tehran.
