Iran, Portugal Sign 2 Protocols For Cultural Co-op

Tehran, June 21, IRNA – Iran and Portugal on Friday signed to cultural cooperation protocols, thus opening a new chapter in bilateral cultural relations. Under the contracts, signed by Iranˈs Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati and Portuguese Secretary of State of Culture, Jorge Barreto Xavier, the two sides will hold culture weeks, produce films, while cooperating in the audio-visual media, performing arts, visual arts and cultural heritage , literature, preparation of historical maps and documents, holding sessions, seminars and conferences in various themes and exchange of cultural and arts figures. The agreements also envision consolidation of bilateral cordial ties, mutual understanding, upgrading cultural cooperation on the basis of equality, and mutual interests and respect. On a separate contract, Iran and Portugal will cooperate in preserving historical documents./end
