Iran President Wishes Prompt Recovery For Iraqi Counterpart

Tehran, Dec 19, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a telephone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Tuesday evening wished prompt recovery for Iraqi President Jalal Talabani who is currently in hospital as a result of a stroke. During the conversation, President Ahmadinejad was informed about Talabani's latest physical condition, hoping he would get better soon. Terming President Talabani as his revolutionary and brotherly friend, the Iranian President wished success and prosperity for the Iraqi nation. He then referred to valuable experiences of professional Iranian physicians, the President voiced Iran's readiness to cooperate in the process of treatment of his Iraqi counterpart. Talabani, 79, has been admitted to a hospital in Baghdad with critical condition on Tuesday./end
