Iran reacts to opposition of Israel, US, Canada to Iran’s WAVE bid

New York, Dec 21, IRNA – Iran’s Permanent Representative at the UN Mohammad Khazaee strongly reacted to the remarks of the Zionist regime, Canada and the US against Iran’s approved proposal initiated by President Hassan Rouhani against violence and extremism. ˈIn that session the Zionist regime’s representative first made harsh remarks against Iran’s proposal and I gave appropriate response to him,” Khazaee said. “The representatives of the US and Canada also lodged accusations against Iran and blatantly expressed their dissatisfaction about international community’s affirmation of Iran’s proposal,” he added. Khazaee said that the discontent of some countries from approval of Iran’s proposal is assessed as their opposition to Islamic Republic’s success in the international arena. Iran offered to host an international conference on a UN resolution which was recently adopted based on President Hassan Rouhani’s initiative World against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) proposal. The UN General Assembly on Wednesday overwhelmingly voted to approve President Rouhani’s proposal, which call on all nations across the globe to denounce violence and extremism. Rouhani made the proposal in an address to the UN Disarmament Conference in New York on September 25.
