Iran seeking world free of violence and extremism: VP

Tehran, Jan 24, IRNA – Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Shahindokht Molaverdi said Saturday that Iran is seeking a world free of violence and extremism. Molaverdi made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Croatian Foreign minister Vesna Pusic, in a reference to a proposal by President Hassan Rouhani to the United Nations General Assembly last year. Molaverdi said that Iran believes dialogue could settle misunderstandings and establish peace and tranquility all around the globe. Underlining the policy of President Rouhani's administration to reach out to outside world, Molaverdi expressed hope that relations between Iran and Croatia will witness further growth in the future. Molaverdi condemned recent terrorist attacks in some countries, regretting that the violent and inhuman acts are being carried out in the name of freedom and religion. It was said that the twenty first century would be the century of women, the vice president said, expressing hope that the idea would come true.
