Iran To Send Humanitarian Aid To Flood-hit Serbia

Tehran, May 20, IRNA – In a meeting on Monday with Serbian Ambassador to Iran Aleksandar Tasic, Director-General of Iran’s Red Crescent Society, Ahmad Mousavi voiced readiness to send humanitarian aid to those affected by devastating flooding in the country. Mousavi said Iran’s humanitarian aid will be sent to Serbia as soon as possible. The Iranian official underlined the need to promote relations between Iran and Serbia to bring closer the two nations. The Serbian ambassador, for his part, briefed the Iranian side on the catastrophic situation in the Balkans. The heaviest rains and floods in 120 years have hit the Balkan states of Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia, forcing hundreds out of their homes. There have been calls for international assistance./end
