Iran strongly condemns blast at Cairo's cathedral

Tehran, Dec 12, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi strongly condemned blast at Cairo's largest Coptic cathedral which claimed the lives of tens of people. He condoled with the bereaved families of victims and said targeting the religious sites is inconsistent with the principles of all religions. All religions strongly reject such despicable actions, the spokesman added. Qasemi noted that the bloodthirsty, anarchist terrorists by doing this unfair attack against the Christians on the threshold of new Christian year showed that they are not controllable and bound to any national, religious, or geographical borders. All people, regardless of ethnicity and religion should get united against terrorism beyond their differences, he said. A bombing at Cairo's largest Coptic cathedral killed at least 25 people and wounded 50, many of whom women and children attending Sunday mass, in the deadliest attack on Egypt's Christian minority in years. 1378/IRNA
