Iran-Tajikistan Enjoy Close Ties

Tabriz, E.Azarbaijan Prov., Feb 18, IRNA – Head of Iran-Tajikistan Friendship Association Mohammad Shabestari said on Sunday that Tehran and Dushanbe have enjoyed close ties since the independence of Tajikistan. Speaking in a ceremony marking start of executive operations on a development project, Shabestari said Tajikistan is today part of old Iran and such an age-old cultural, religious and historical affinity between the Iranian and Tajik nations provide a suitable ground for expansion of bilateral cultural and tourism relations. He said a Tajik delegation is visiting Iran and the city of Tabriz in particular to consolidate mutual ties. ˈThe team in its recent visit to Iran travelled to Tabriz, Isfahan and Shiraz in order to getting acquainted with Iranian culture, custom, and tradition.ˈ He noted that Tabriz is the most suitable and most important city of Iran for expansion of bilateral ties.
