Iranian ambassador to Tunis confers with Al-Ghannushi

Beirut, May 6, IRNA – Head of Tunisian Islamist political Party “ Al-Nahda” Rashid al-Ghannushi and Iranian Ambassador to Tunis Payman Jebelli discussed issues of mutual interest on Monday. In the meeting in the headquarters of the party in the capital of Tunisia, al-Ghannushi called for strengthening and expanding ties with Iran in all fields. Al-Ghannushi appreciated Iran’s constant support for Tunisian revolution and people. The ambassador, for his part, said Tunisia move toward holding elections and stability is an indication of Tunisian people growth and political maturity. He also praised important role of Al-Nahda movement under leadership of Al-Ghannushi in facilitating the move in the country. Jebelli underlined that Iran continues to support Tunisian people and revolution. The two sides discussed and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest. end
