Iranian Artists Hold Workshops At Sharjah Festivals

Tehran, July 12, IRNA - Six Iranian artists are holding workshops at the Sharjah Ramadan Festival and Sharjah Islamic Culture Capital celebrations, which is currently underway at the Expo Center in the United Arabs Emirates. Iranian graphic designer Kambiz Alaii is holding workshops on typography and poster designs, and Mohammad Nabati and Shahla Qazizadeh are teaching illumination during workshops at the event, said the Saturdayˈs edition of the English-language daily ˈTehran Timesˈ. The festival is also playing host to workshops on carpet weaving, which are being held by Jila Araabzadeh. Mojtaba Karami and Mohammad Heidari are holding workshops on the calligraphy of Quranic verses and shekasteh nastaliq. Artists from more than 20 countries have put their works on display in 30 exhibits. Five theatrical performances, more than 65 lectures, seminars and panel discussions have also been scheduled for the festival. The festival, which has been organized by Sharjah’s Department of Culture and Information, runs until July 31.
