Iranian association to present war books at Frankfurt Book Fair

TEHRAN,Sept.21(MNA) – Iran’s Association of Sacred Defense Publishers will be sending 80 books on the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, which is known as the Sacred Defense in Iran, to the Frankfurt Book Fair. The books have been published over the past three years, Shahriar Aminian, an official of the association, told the Persian service of MNA on Friday. A series of brochures containing details about the books, which are mainly fictional works, research monographs, documentaries and artworks, are also available in English and Arabic for visitors. There are also plans to arrange meetings with those active in electronic book publishing, and those involved in modern technologies of publications, he said. Aminian also added that several prominent translators have announced their willingness to translate series of books into different languages. In addition, Iran’s Majlis Library, Museum and Documentation Center and the Iran National Library and Archives (INLA) are slated to take part in the book fair. Over 100 countries will display their cultural products from October 9 to 13 at the Frankfurt Book Fair, which is considered to be the most important book fair in the world for international deals and trading.
