Iranian children to write to president about their ideas for water conservation

TEHRAN,Nov.26(MNA) – A national competition invited Iranian children and young adults to write to President Hassan Rouhani, elaborating on their wishes, dreams, and suggestions for the conservation of water resources. Entitled “Consonant with Water”, the letter competition has been organized by the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA). Iran’s Department of Environment and Tehran Province Water and Wastewater Company are also collaborating in this competition, IIDCYA announced in a press release on Monday. The project aims to emphasize on reducing water consumption by citizens, protecting resources like rivers and lakes across the country, and helping teach children how to protect water resources. It also aims to draw officials’ attention to the necessity of protecting water resources. Children and young adults aged 6 to 16 are asked to submit their letters before December 21 to the secretariat located on Hejab St., off Fatemi Ave. The best works will be selected by a jury panel and the top works will be announced during a ceremony in February 2014.
