Iranian deputy FM meets former Iraqi president

Irbil, June 15, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Hassan Qashqavi who is visiting Iraq's Autonomous Kurdistan Region met and conferred with former Iraqi president Jalal Talabani in Sulaimaniyeh on Monday. Qashqavi in the meeting conveyed high ranking Iranian officials' warm greetings to Talabaini and wished him good health and success. The Iranian deputy foreign minister in his visit to Iraq's Sulaimaniyeh province also held meetings with high ranking provincial officials and exchanged views with them on issues of mutual interest. Qashqavi on Monday afternoon met the Iranian merchants and economic activists in Iraqi Kurdistan, was briefed on their activities in Sulaimaniyeh, and promised to inform the concerned Iranian officials about their demands and problems.
