Iranian diplomat accuses certain Arab countries of seeking to further complicate Syrian crisis

Beirut, April 1, IRNA – The Iranian charge dˈaffaires to Syria said on Saturday that certain Arab countries seek to further complicate Syrian crisis so that more people would be killed and the country would be further destroyed. Abbas Golrou said that (certain) Arab countries are making historical mistakes in connection with Syrian crisis that cannot be wiped out from memories of Arab nations, the Syrian people in particular. He criticized Arab League for its decision to grant the seat of the Syrian government to western-backed opposition groups, calling it a ˈdangerous precedentˈ. He evaluated the results of recent Syrian National Dialogue held in Damascus as ˈgoodˈ, saying the final statement of the meeting can play a decisive role in putting an end to the crisis in the country. National dialogue in Syria without any preconditions is necessary and is the only way out of the crisis in the Muslim Arab country, he underlined. Golrou added that the Damascus meeting was in line with the Tehran meeting in which all Syrian parties participated. He pointed to Iranˈs efforts to settle the Syrian crisis from the beginning of civil war in the country, namely Iranˈs 6 point proposal on Syria. He reiterated that Iran does not ignore the legitimate rights of the Syrian people but is well aware that what is taking place in Syria is different from what Syrians want. The Iranian diplomat said that the Syrian government had no problem with its people and would not fight with them and the ongoing war is with foreign forces and extremist elements. He took the extremist elements responsible for recent use of chemical weapons in Syria, saying, it was a scenario by the US to put the blame on the Syrian government and accordingly increase international pressures on the country.
