Iranian films line up for Indian filmfest

TEHRAN, Nov. 12 (MNA) -- Three Iranian films are competing in the 18th edition of Kolkata International Film Festival, which is currently underway in the capital of West Bengal state in east India. Director Dariush Mehrjuii’s “The Orange Dressed” (also known as “The Orange Suit”), about the environment, and Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar winning film “A Separation”, a portrayal of the breakup of a marriage, will be screened in the international section of the festival, which opened on Saturday. “The Last Step”, Ali Mosaffa’s drama about a movie superstar, will be contending for the NETPAC Award in the Asian films category. In addition, the French-Japanese joint production “Like Someone in Love” directed by the world-renowned Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami will be shown in the international section of the event, which runs until November 17.
