Iranian MPs Urge Need To Promote Hijab In Society

Tehran, June 15, IRNA – A group of 195 members of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on Sunday called on President Hassan Rouhani to take serious measures to promote the situation of Hijab (Islamic dress code) in the society. ˈOne of the major examples of enemiesˈ cultural invasion against Iran is changing the lifestyle of the Iranian women,ˈ said the MPs in a statement read in Majlis open session. They urged the need to take necessary measures for implementing the law on promotion of Hijab and chastity in the country which was amended by Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution in 2005. The MPs said ignoring implementation of the Hijab law would ˈhave irreparable consequences and face social culture with huge challenges threatening lives of the Iranian families.ˈ They added that western powers and enemies of the Islamic Iran have targeted lifestyle of the Iranian women by producing corrupted satellite programs which are aimed at ruining family lives of the Iranians and weakening their ideological principles./end
