Iranian official: Cultural commonalities vital in fostering Tehran-Cairo relations

Shiraz, Fars Prov., March 2, IRNA – Deputy Head of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO) for Tourism Affairs, Manouchehr Jahanian, said here on Friday that cultural commonalities play pivotal role in fostering Tehran-Cairo relations. Speaking to reporters, Jahanian made the remarks on the sidelines of the tour of Egyptian Tourism Minister, Hisham Zazouz, to Shiraz. He said the first visit of an Egyptian official to Iran after 34 years should be considered as a good omen. Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, Mohammad-Sharif Malek-zadeh and Zazouz signed a deal in Tehran on Wednesday (Feb 27) to promote tourism cooperation. The two sides agreed to facilitate exchange of visits by tourists between the two countries. As per the deal, Iran and Egypt would arrange tours to familiarize tour leaders, travel agencies, reporters and even government officials with their tourism attractions.
