Iranian parliamentary delegation visit Malaya University

Kuala Lumpur, March 17, IRNA – Iranian parliamentary delegation visited Malaya University in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday. Co-Chairman of Iran-Malaysia parliamentary friendship group and Vice-Chancellor of the university Muhammad Amin Jalal-o-ddin underlined development of scientific-educational cooperation between the two countries. Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi, who was already Iran's ambassador in Malaysia, and accompanying delegation met with Vice-Chancellor Muhammad Amin Jalal-o-ddin and number of professors and officials of the university. Referring to cooperation between Malaya University with Tehran and Sharif Universities of Iran, Jalal-o-ddin called for strengthening cooperation between MU with Iranian academies. Currently, 479 Iranian in Ph.D., 229 Iranian in graduate and 58 in under-graduate degrees are studying in Malaya University and 40 Iranian are working there as employees or professors. Zahedi, for his part, underlined cooperation between Islamic countries on scientific fields and said that in case of strengthening scientific cooperation between Islamic countries, the Muslim World would turn to a scientific superpower and play an important role in world equations. Referring to Iranian students problems in Malaysia, Zahedi called for settling the problems. Malaya University is the oldest educational center in Malaysia with 110 years background. The university has 20 faculties and educational centers with 25,000 students from 70 countries.
