Iranian professor among world’s highly cited researchers

Tehran, Sept 30, IRNA - Habib Baqeri, a professor in the Department of Chemistry at Sharif University of Technology, has been included in the new Thomson Reuters list of the top one percent of most-cited chemistry scientists. The Highly Cited Researchers 2014 list showcases scientists at the forefront of their fields. It includes 3,000 researchers whose scientific papers rank among the top one percent most cited, in all disciplines, attesting to the exceptional impact of their research. Previously, Professor Ali Pourjavadi, Professor Mohammad Reza Saeedi and Professor Saeed Shahrokhian from the university’s Chemistry Department were on the same list. Professor Baqeri obtained his BS in applied chemistry from Sharif University of Technology in 1985. He got his MS in chemical spectroscopy from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, the UK in 1987 and received his PhD from the same university in 1991. Baqeri conducted postdoctoral research at Verije Universiteit’s Depatrmant of Analytical Chemistry in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 1992./end
